Biography

Julie Keyes, who for many years was based in Marblehead, MA, began her career as a ceramic designer. Her hand painted works have been exhibited in one woman shows in the American Craft Museum and the American Folk Art Museum, and are currently held in numerous corporate and private collections around the world.

Julie’s curatorial work in contemporary American art has been extensive. She has been one of the key organizers, creative director, and fund raiser for the Gettysburg Festival, and annual event that is very successful and continues to grow exponentially. It features a permanent Sculpture Walk that includes American greats Bill King, Nathan Joseph, and Hans van de Bovenkamp.

Most recently Julie has been operating her private Sag Harbor, NY gallery and in 2009 partnered with the famed Elaine Benson gallery, opening a 5000 sq. foot event space as a seasonal summer gallery in Southampton, NY.

This winter also marks the completion of a three year project in which Julie curated and purchased over 2,000 pieces of art for the luxurious Mandarin Hotel, the jewel in the crown of the new City Center Las Vegas, now home to one of the largest corporate art collections in the US available to the public.

Future curatorial projects for Keyes Art Consulting include a boutique luxury hotel in the Bahamas as well as Dubai. Come the new year, Keyes Art will also be opening a new office in Chelsea to better serve an ever growing list of corporate and private clients.
