The golden brown color of tar is the choice medium of Brian O'Leary's paintings. It was also used by Albert Pinkham Ryder whose work had a deep mystical expression. Not unlike Ryder, this work too seeks a mystical connection, with some of the images reflecting microscopic imagery or galaxies in the darkness of space... |

Toinette Gay creates intensely personal landscapes where objects, houses, and trees seem personified. A sense of mystery and quiet solitude emanate from the dreamlike bucolic scenes. Her imagined female portraits create a panorama of subtle emotional states that are almost abstract in masking their meaning. Somehow they add up to form an internal landscape of emotion. |

Valter Us began his landscape process on a solid basis, working from nature. And his paintings are solid, depicted space feels three dimensional. When he counters that solidity with colors that are free and dramatic, the effect is magic. The pursuit of magic may also indicate the direction of the subject matter. His most elemental landscapes feel like an entry into a dreamworld, inhabited by unseen forces. |

Poetry Reading Sunday 12 5pm
Keyes Art in Sag Harbor will present a dynamic show over the 4th of July weekend, featuring artists Casey Chalem Anderson and Barbara Pintauro~Lobosco, who in a series of collaborations with the poet Susan Baran, explore how art and poetry compliment and energize each other. The artists and poet take their work to a new level, exploring the intersection of the visual with the written word, while celebrating the wonder and beauty of the East End. Aage Bjerring's working fish lures and decoys are amazing passionate art pieces from a seaman a fisherman and an artist.
The love and passion for nature art and most importantly the sea is in all the work.
